Dates al majhoul a marzipan
ingredients :
1 kg of high quality dates
marzipan 500g (ready to use)
250 g of ground coconut
2 tablespoons orange flower water
1 tablespoon melted butter
red and green food coloring
1/2 teaspoon strawberry extract
1/2 teaspoon pistachio extract
1 orange flower water glass
Preparation :
In a bowl, put the nut of ground coconut, almonds, blossom water and butter. Mix well. Divide the marzipan into two or three equal parts.
Put the green dye in the first part with the extract of pistachio, in the other part the red dye and strawberry extract and the third remains white.
Take a piece of cloth, soaked in orange flower water, wipe dates removing nuclei then stuff them with almonds. On the surface of the dough, draw cross lines with a knife.
Decorate with almonds silver beads and sprinkle with a little granulated sugar.
